My Dearest Love
I have dated as above, it saves stamp duty. We came into Harbour last friday to be paid off, I hope to be at Woolwich about the 18th or 20th – Mrs. Hall was on board yesterday to see her son, she saw you she said, about a month ago you looked very well she spoke flatteringly of our children. I have just received your second letter, I should like much to have seen your Brothers remember me kindly to them and to your Aunt it is a pity but what they could have a respectable middle aged Woman to superintend the management of their House – I am glad Mr. Sillifant has been so kind to you his affliction must be very great at losing his eldest daughter and a few years ago his most invaluable Wife, I will write to Mr. Sillifant when I come to Woolwich – I am sorry you have been so unwell, take great care of your eye wear a shade over it, time will sometimes do more than medicine do not be applying too many things to it. I shall not write very often but I will come to you and my dear children as soon as I can. I am very anxious to be at home. Hindle wants to have a letter from his Wife, you are fortunate to have such an attentive Woman to attend on you when so many turn out bad you did right to advance her 2£
Tell my sweet children to be good and I will love them – My Agent has not received any prize money yet, but there is some payable, I believe, sixty Pounds or more – Be assured my Dearest Love I will be home as soon as I can, I am very anxious to see you but I keep my mind employed else I should be miserable, but the Almighty will support us with our own endeavours if we look to him I remain,
My most Affectionate Wife, Your most true Husband Thos. Waters
