Monday Evening.

Dear Janet,

I have no news. That shirt-waist pattern will do all right, and I would like little boy’s french dress pattern 4982 largest size 7 years, price 15 cents. It is too bad take so much of your money. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce were just in to spend the evening we gave them raspberry water, and sponge cake, which I had made this afternoon and forgot the flavoring till I put it in the pan, then I grated nutmeg over it, it was quite nice. There is nothing to write. The girls made a good job of Mrs. Nicholson’s kitchen, she was wanting them to take a cup of tea every now & then. After the girls were well out of the way, she sent Marguerite down for Mrs. Bannerman to come up and see, Mrs. B. said it had never looked so well before. I must stop, for there is nothing new. I asked Tom & Bob if they were not glad summer had come, Tom said Not just because its summertime, but because Janet comes home in summer. I think no one in B.R. knew Johnny Irving was married, they did not appear out in this church Sunday I do not know where they went, or if they went out at all. Little Mary Blair and Maggie Morrison were here hooking to-day but the mat is not finished yet. I hope you got your valise safely and the money. Ida did not come out to-day, she has a bad cold.

As there is no news, I’ll say good-night now, and perhaps write more in the morning. Mrs. D. R. McKenzie had a very bad turn Sunday, she is better but weak. Tuesday morn. Mr. Robertson took our census yesterday morning. I went up to Riverside Sunday. It is Tom’s birthday tomorrow. Tom and Bob are in their bare feet.

Forgot to mail Tuesday. Mailing Wednesday.
