Dear Captain Waters

I feel great pleasure in acknowledging the receipt of your very kind Letter dated the 2nd Instant “congratulating me on On my Appointment as Quarter Master” I beg to return my very best thanks for your kind wishes for my welfare and I do assure you, Sir, that I feel this a very great mark of respect more than I could have anticipated “the impression it has made will never be Obliterated” trusting this this will find you and family in the enjoyment of good health” as I am proud to say this leaves me and mine —
