About the Waters Project
What is it?
The project is made up of the By Sea, By Land book and this website. Through the site, we plan to bring together a variety of digitized resources, from a blog to an archive of images of artifacts, family trees, letters, photographs and information pieces, many of which were discovered in research for the book. Because there was so much more material than could be used in the book, the website is a way to include more information, as well as to continue to grow as new information becomes available.
Who's behind it?
The website is being developed under the management of Margaret Hewson (Canada), a descendant of the first Thomas Waters. By Sea, By Land author Suzanne Paschall has provided web design support, and family members Chris Evans and Maria Rigetti have put in many hours transcribing, uploading and tagging artifacts and letters. We hope others will become interested in managing the website over time.
What are the objectives?
- To make easily accessible to our current family, researchers and future generations the archives and information about the Waters Family.
- To encourage further research by other family members and external researchers.
- To inspire the submission of more information in the form of images of artifacts, letters or any other source of information on the family’s history by others in the family.
