Dear John

As the folks are all away to church and the place is very quiet I will try and write you a short letter. as there is nothing new going on there is not much to write about. the railroad men have got back to work again they are working above here now they have not got very many men yet but expect to have more soon. if you had some of your horses down here I think they would sell pretty well Robert Guild was here to day and said at a sale in Stewiacke last week a horse seven years old and spavined in both hind legs sold for a hundred and fifty nine dollars there are some arround here wanting horses but there dont seem to be very many for sale. Mr Jodry lost one last fall and George let him have old Fan for the winter as he did not want to buy one then but I supose he will want one this summer George has his wheat sown and the garden stuff in if it keeps fine this week he will get the most of his grain sowed it is fine to day and the ground is getting dry hay is very scarce this spring and a good price George has sold about 4 tons the price is from ten Dollars up to twenty some are asking for it now I do not know of much more to write Wills folks and Daves folks are all well and we are all well here hoping this will find you all well I will close with love to all

Father
