Dear John

I would have writn before this but I thought I would wait untill you got home again I got Janets card and also your letter of the 10th so I think by the time this reaches you you will be back home. I was sorry to hear of your illness but was glad to hear you were improving hope you will be all right in time.  well John we have had one of the worst summers for making hay that we have had for over thirty years we comenced haying the 16th of July and up to last Friday we had in ten or twelve loads it has been fine since that and we got in ten loads since. since the 10th of July up to last Friday we just had ten days that it did not rain and they were mostly cloudy I supose before this reaches you Lou Guild will have arrived there I had a card from Jean when they were in Winnipeg but she did not date it. I supose Lou will tell you all the news so it is not much use for me to write very much they are still working at the railroad but they got on very slow during the wet weather One week the Boss told George they just got in two days and a half I have seen Rene & Trude since they came back trude has got a school and is going to teach I do not know what Rene intends to do now. I do not know of more news to write so I think I will close, hoping this will find you all in good health as it leaves us tell Tom it is about time he was writing as we have heard very little from him since he went back Sam Burris is Back from the west I saw him at church to day he has not changed much since he went west he had been in Vancouver

Now I will close with my best wishes for you and the Family

I remain

your Father
