Barney’s River, Wed.
Dear Daughter.
Recd your letter last evening. In reply – I have no more money to send you. You may pay the freight if you wish, but you will not have sufficient money to pay the duty. The freight is $1.75 & the duty will be about $5.00 – making in all $6.75. Mama says – Mr. Reid will be along today or tomorrow with money for me. He may or may not. I caught more cold when out on Monday afternoon – & have been in the house yesterday & today. I am not sure at all that I will be fit for preaching on Sabbath.
Mrs. Dan McDonald & Mrs Cameron at mill were here yesterday & took out the mat.
You had better not go near your bicycle till you get some more money. This is all I can write as the mail must go.
Your loving father.
