Half past eight Thursday morning

Feb. 22^nd 1900

Dear Janet

Come home, of course, we will meet you to-morrow, What a pity you did not come yesterday, papa was down around Avondale collecting for the century fund, never came home that night, and is not home yet. He collected around Kenzieville on Tuesday did remarkably well $50 or more. I hope you will be well enough to come home. I do want a yard of good stout jean or waist lining, grey, all one colour, for neck bands for men’s shirts, it will be perhaps 20 cents or 25 cents a yard. I want the best, and two papers of needles, one No. 7 & one No. 6, good ones. We are quite well, Ida never came this week, I think she has a cold. This is Washington’s birthday and Alice McKenzie’s too, Alice has a party. Amy has been reviewing her dolls and their wardrobes for a week. Where are Amy’s beads?
