I do not recollect what poor rates we pay, that you can state in the paper. Government stops my income tax from my pay and allowances, nor are you required to make any Return of Rents or Interests of Money payable to you by others residing in this Kingdom, they being chargeable on the Party by whom the Payment is made, and will ultimately fall on you by way of Deduction from the Amount at the time the Payment is made,

if any thing further is to be entered ask Gen.1 Wingrove, if he is at home, or Capt.Thomson, or any one else that you recollect, or even send, I was going to say, to Major Boys, but I think you will have no need. I think you will think of some friend or neighbour or person in business who will put you in the way, mind and put down what you are rated at to the poor rates. I do not recollect any thing else. Your Brother, I take it, will be stopped for the rent, and the Exeter Bank for the turnpike trusts –
